First I met Marco at the airport. So glad I had you in that moment. Another European and a language we both speak and understand. You were so nervous because of the trip and you taught me some chinese words in the taxi, very well prepared. Of course, because you are teacher. We arrived at the hotel and met Julia and Sabine and of course Druja. Marco was happy to meet Julia, a student from Great Britain. Me I was happy to meet Sabine, a teacher from Switzerland. I was so happy to have someone who speaks german. Because Julia, sorry,  I couldn’t understand anything at the beginning. And I was thinking about this combination of people in one group and I didn’t know what to think about it…

Then we shared very awwwesome days at The Great Wall together. Hard moments and funny ones. We were lucky and disappointed, groggy and sweaty, fascinated and overwhelmed.  And we recognized that we’re all special. Very special. Marco, Mr. „Always too late“, „Eat so much“ & „Want to say everything in Chinese“, Sabine who loves to know every detail of history, who likes to go to the toilet at the Wall and loves Eggplants, Julia, our Youngster, always missing chocolate and loves Dumplings, who always wins Mah-Jongg, is a Social Media-Expert and sometimes wondering about our non-coolness. And me, which I hate Aircon, laughing so much and which I am sometimes too open-minded. But at least, you’re all very lovely, unique and authentic. And I’m very thankful that we shared this experience and this „odysee“ together. You have a place in my heart. Stay as you are and I hope to see you again friends – wherever and whenever…
